2010 News & Information2010 Communication from the VCA Board of Directors: Over the past few months we have been looking at ways to cut costs and assist in minimizing the fiscal loss for the VCA. One of the methods we are giving a great deal of investigating to is to utilize our webpage much more, and to use the YAHOO list for sharing club information that would usually be provided by the postal system. We need to make decisions that will ultimately be for the betterment and longevity of this club and its finances. Currently our operating expenses for this year are projected to exceed income generated from membership and profits from past National events. One step to reduce costs for the remainder of this year is the elimination of providing a hard copy of the Membership Directory. The practice of providing a directory was started as a courtesy to our members, done by a volunteer, and included in a copy of the Vizsla NEWS. It has grown into a professionally done document at a cost of approximately $4,000, plus or minus. This year the directory is available as a pdf file that is posted on the YAHOO list, and will be emailed to members who had requested hard copy editions. We have been very active in promoting membership on our YAHOO list. We would like to thank you all for participating and sharing in reducing costs for the VCA. This is a beginning step toward savings for the VCA by cutting down on printed material. You will see this process used more in our future.
