2026 National Specialty and Companion Events
The Vizsla Club of America’s National Specialty and Companion Events are heading to the beautiful West Coast in 2026!
The South Coast Vizsla Club is proud to host this exciting event at Galway Downs in scenic Temecula, California, from April 6-10, 2026. Nestled in the heart of Temecula Wine Country, Galway Downs provides a picturesque setting for a week of competition and camaraderie.
The 2026 National will feature a full range of events, including agility, obedience, rally, conformation, and scent work. But it’s not just about the competition—it’s a week-long celebration of our breed! We’ve planned several special events to bring the community together.
Brush up on your ring presence at Britt Jung’s special Handling Clinic, then unwind afterward with a unique “Evening with Sam the No Snob Somm.” We’ll also be celebrating the South Coast Vizsla Club’s 50th Anniversary! Don’t miss the Dog of the Year and Hall of Fame Awards, a special Welcome Party, and a touching Luminary Walk to honor our beloved Vizslas who have passed. And for some friendly competition, we’ll be holding a Fetch Trial after the conclusion of rally and obedience.
In addition to the main events, we will also host the special All-Star Review and the challenging Iron Dog Competition. (More information about those below).
The excitement kicks off the weekend prior, April 4-5, 2026, with several all-breed events, including two days of agility, three days of dock diving, and four trials of Fast CAT. Crowning off the week, the South Coast Vizsla Club, in collaboration with the Vizsla Club of Southern California, will host a Local Specialty on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
National Specialties are the perfect opportunity to learn about the breed and connect with participants and breeders. We warmly invite the entire Vizsla community—or anyone interested in learning about our beloved breed—to join us for a fun-filled week in the West!
